10.14. Anti-blocking system of brakes (ABS)

GENERAL INFORMATION

ABS scheme

The structure of ABS includes four sensors of frequency of rotation of wheels, the pressure distributor, the electronic control unit, four gear wreaths, the wheels established on naves, and also a control lamp and the ABS switch located on the dashboard. The electronic control unit is established under a pillow of a back seat. The block obtains data on frequency of rotation of wheels from sensors and on the basis of these data gives out signals on electromagnetic valves of the distributor of pressure. The distributor of pressure is established in an engine compartment after the main brake cylinder. On the distributor four electromagnetic valves from which tubes to working cylinders of brake mechanisms of wheels depart are established. On a control unit signal valves support necessary pressure in a hydraulic actuator of each brake mechanism.


Prevention

At carrying out electrowelding works it is necessary to disconnect a block with wires from the electronic control unit at the switched-off ignition. At body coloring with the subsequent drying in the chamber at temperature 85 ° With and above the electronic control unit is necessary for removing from the car. Otherwise the control unit can fail.


Removal and installation of the distributor of pressure

Pressure distributor

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect a wire from the "minus" plug of the storage battery.
2. To pump out brake liquid from a tank.
3. To disconnect from the distributor of pressure of a tube.
4. To uncover, having turned out the fastening screw.
5. To disconnect a block with wires from the distributor.
6. To unscrew a nut of fastening and to disconnect from the distributor a wire going on "weight".
7. To unscrew nuts of fastening and to remove the pressure distributor from an arm.
8. To establish the pressure distributor upside-down. At installation to replace nuts of fastening and to tighten them the moment of 7 N · m (0,7 kgfs · м). After installation to pump over system of a hydraulic actuator of brakes.

Removal and ABS electronic control unit installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect a wire from the "minus" plug of the storage battery.
2. To remove a pillow of a back seat.
3. To disconnect from the electronic control unit a block with wires, having compressed a spring clip.
4. To unscrew two nuts of fastening and to remove the electronic control unit.
5. To establish the electronic control unit upside-down. A block with wires to connect to the control unit it is possible only at the switched-off ignition or the disconnected battery room of the battery.

3. To unscrew a bolt of fastening and to remove the sensor.
4. To establish the sensor of frequency of rotation of a wheel upside-down.
