10.15. Pumping of brake system



This operation is carried out together, with safety measures observance as brake liquid is toxic.

Sequence when pumping all system:

 – back right wheel;
 – back left wheel;
 – forward right wheel;
 – forward left wheel.

If works only with a brake of one wheel were carried out, it is enough to pump over the cylinder only this wheel.


For a dolivka or replacement to use only new brake liquid.

1. To clear of dirt and raise dust the valve of production of air on a wheel from which air will be removed.
2. To check and if necessary to add brake liquid in a tank to the maximum mark.
3. To remove a protective cap from the valve of production of air and to put on a valve head a rubber hose for liquid plum.
4. To ship the hose end in the pure transparent vessel which has been partially filled with brake liquid.
5. Sharply to press a pedal of a brake of 4-5 times (with an interval between pressing 1–2 c), and then, leaving a pedal pressed to unscrew on 1/2–3/4 turns the valve of production of air. Thus in liquid following from a hose air vials will be visible. After the liquid effluence from a hose will stop, to wrap densely the valve of production of air and to release a brake pedal.
6. To repeat item 3 until allocation of vials from following liquid completely will not stop. Thus it is necessary to watch level of brake liquid in a tank and to add brake liquid in a tank, without allowing bigger decrease in level in it.
7. To remove a hose, to wipe the end of the valve and to put on it a cap.
8. To pump over, if it is required, brake mechanisms of other wheels.
9. To add in a tank to necessary level brake liquid.

If pumping of brake system is executed insufficiently carefully, by pressing a pedal at the end of its course increased "softness" of a pedal will be felt.
